Last night I was the photographer for a charity event held by The Moyer Foundation to benefit a truly amazing program that they founded a few years ago called Camp Mariposa to help meet the needs of children and teens facing the difficult challenges associated with an addicted or co-dependent family member. The event was held at the AMF Bradenton Lanes in Bradenton, FL and it was a fun night of celebrity bowling, live and silent auctions, and food catered by Lee Roy Selman’s.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the appearance of the Billboard chart-topping (and Bradenton natives) We the Kings who mingled, bowled, and took lots of photos with lots of excited young ladies before taking the stage to sing. In spite of my, ahem, age, I really love their music and in addition really admire them for not having to resort to raunchy lyrics or videos featuring scantily dressed females to sell records. Kudos to them. Click here to listen to one of my favorite songs, We’ll be a Dream.
Now on to this week’s theme with my fellow photographers from The Bloom Forum’s Fab 15 group……………..
Joy. I could have taken a picture of so many different things – simple joys, big joys, winning joys. Or how about the sheer joy of a teenage girl getting a photo on her phone of herself and a member of We the Kings? These two girls were absolutely elated, clutching their phones with sparkling eyes and big grins. Joy.
